Hope & Pray : Missoni Pre Fall 2013

I've been off my game lately, well maybe a little longer than "lately". This is something I suspect we all go through, those hours, days, weeks, months or even years where everything seems to be falling apart. Where even if "a break" exists our fingers are so buttery from our tears or our sweat or both that we just cannot catch that break. I have been mulling over a few photos for the past week, inspirational indeed yet I could not bring myself to pen homage to same, I was undoubtedly stuck in an abyss with no avenue or desire to get out. Today I woke up, I wondered whether or not Mr. Missoni had been found, I quickly turned on my pc, sadly there were no reports that he had been found and reunited safely with his family. Here I am, with air in my lungs and stuck yet the family of Mr. Missoni showed the collection yesterday notwithstanding the personal crisis they face at this time. It reminds us that no matter what happens in life once there is air in our lungs there should be hope in our hearts. Our hearts and prayers go out to the Missoni family at this time.

Hello Mama Africa How Are You?

Mama Africa is feeling fine and I hope my fetch dolls and dudes are feeling fine too. On Saturday, after having theeeee most terrible morning, my evening became delish when I stumbled upon these amazing photos while stalking one of my fave designers Loin Cloth & Ashes casually browsing the internet. This editorial  in Elle SA's January issue feautures a bevy of designers from the continent. I love me some African prints, don't you? Well these are my roots. A long way from June 16th, 1976 , this march through the streets of Soweto is empowering and Sharleen Dziire looks breathtakingly beautiful.

Football , Olympics and disgustingly sexy people ! Sorry Soroya but you are not the only Carvalho in my fash life :) Viva Brasilia and viva Gracie Carvalho in this stunning editorial shot by Mr. Kliot for the January 2013 edition of Vogue Brazil titled Surfista do Asfalto. Yes, the exotic chick in last year’s Vicky swim commercial in April. The editorial definitely has some spring in its step featuring vibrant colours, amazing graphic prints and florals! Who wouldn’t want to wear a hibiscus? The shoot is so Caribbean, so sexy and seaux freaking fetch! <3 

Have A Fetching New Year Loves

This should have been posted on the first day of the year but better late than never I suppose. It’s a new year and for some another chance to fulfil the resolutions left untouched in 2012. This year, let’s skip the resolutions and work on goals instead. Make a list, check it twice, and day by day work your butts off to get everything done. Remember, Rome was not built in a day, and definitely not done in a week either. Take your time, develop clear ideas on how to get “it” done and then get out and do it one month at a time.

So my awesome little creole Dani Anthony let me in on a wonderful way to keep track of all my blessings this year and it is so FETCH I just had to share. What you will do is get a jar and label it 2013. For the rest of the year write down every good thing that happens to you on a slip of paper and place it in the jar. At the end of 2013 you can read those bits of paper and literally count some of your blessings.
